# Rate limits

Rate limits determine the maximum number of API requests per IP you can make in a given period. While rates differ among endpoint groups, you can generally expect a limit of approximately 100 requests per second. If the limit is exceeded, you’ll receive a **429 Too Many Requests** status code.
